Everything you need to know before requesting a bid β process, pricing, timelines, and what to expect working with Mountain West Timber.
It starts with a free bid β call or send a request through our contact form and we'll set up a time to talk through your space and vision. From there we create a custom CAD design, finalize engineering and materials, shop-fabricate your timber frame, and install on site. Most projects move through design & approval, shop fabrication, and final installation in that order β see our Our Timber Framing Process section for a visual walkthrough.
It depends heavily on size, materials, and site conditions, but as a starting point: pergolas typically start around $5,000, arbors around $10,000, pavilions around $15,000, and timber barns around $20,000+. Commercial and hospitality projects are bid individually based on scope. See our Packages & Pricing section for a fuller breakdown, or call for an exact quote.
Yes β every bid starts with a free, no-obligation on-site estimate. We'll walk your space, talk through design options, and give you a real number before you commit to anything.
Smaller structures like pergolas and arbors are often designed and installed within a few weeks of approval. Larger pavilions, barns, and commercial projects can take longer depending on engineering, permitting, and shop fabrication schedules. We'll give you a realistic timeline as part of your bid.
Every project we build is custom CAD-designed for your specific space β no cookie-cutter kits. That said, our package pricing gives you a realistic starting point so you know roughly what to expect before we sit down to design.
We shop-fabricate timber frames and joinery off-site under controlled conditions for precision and quality, then transport and install on-site. This typically means a faster, cleaner install with less weather risk than framing built entirely on location.
We build with traditional and steel-reinforced heavy timber joinery, selecting species and finishes based on your project's use, budget, and local climate. We're happy to talk through options during your bid.
Yes β in addition to pergolas, pavilions, and barns, we install exposed timber beams, entryways, and structural framing inside homes and commercial spaces. Browse the Indoor Installs category in our gallery for examples.
